FAQ about our Jazz Funk Soul Band

Q How far will your jazz band travel for an event?
A Up to 150 miles.  We cover Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Somerset, South Wales, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Birmingham, West Midlands, Oxford, Swindon, Wiltshire, Dorset, North Devon, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and London.

bride beside the riverQ Does your jazz band just perform at weddings and civil partnerships?
A No, we do all kinds of parties (anniversaries, birthdays, naming days, University Balls etc) and corporate events such as networking events, awards ceremonies, sales conventions, company launches, product launches and so on.  We've done events for Centerparcs, Kelloggs, Coca-Cola, Nike and many more.

Q We'd just need your funk soul band to play dancey soul and Motown (no jazz) at our wedding. Would that be OK?
A Absolutely!

Q Do you provide your own PA/soundsystem and lights?
A Yes, our PA is suitable for most average-sized function rooms/halls. If you're getting married in the Albert Hall we might need to hire in a bigger one.  We use a smaller PA when we play background jazz at drinks receptions.  We provide disco lights to light up the dance floor area in front of the band (multi-coloured & flash on and off in time with the music).

Q Do your prices include travel and accommodation costs?
A Yes, and we don't charge VAT.

Q How much space does the band need to play in?
A 3m x 3m approx for the jazz duo and trio, 3m x 4m for the quartet and 3m x 5m for the 5 piece jazz funk soul band.

Q How long does the funk soul band take to set up?
A 1 hour - a bit longer if there are lots of stairs or access is tricky. If your party is already underway we will set up with the minimum of disruption to you and your guests.

Q Do we need to allow food for the band?
A Yes, you need to provide food and drink for each band member.  And we need a room to change in.

Q Can you play recorded music in between when the band is playing?
A Yes, we have a selection of jazz/soul/funk tracks we put on, or you can give us a compilation you've put together for the occasion if you prefer.

Q Can your jazz trio play outside during drinks?
A Yes, we are happy to do this.  We need to be on level dry ground and have cover from hot sun or rain.

Q Can we play our iPod through your PA after you've finished playing?
A Yes, you can hire our PA system and lights to use after our performance, for an addditional fee.

Q What does the band wear?
A Whatever fits in with your dress code - DJs (black tie), suits or smart stage wear.
